Mrs. Rivera earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico in 1993. After years working as a manager for the private and government sectors, and living through injustices during those years, she decided to study law hoping to help others navigate the judicial system. In 2013, she earned a Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University and is a member of the Puerto Rican Bar and the U.S. District Court Bar.
Mrs. Rivera’s legal experience is diverse. She practiced criminal defense with the Public Defender’s Office of Puerto Rico. Later, she clerked for The Hon. Brian K. Tester, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge. She also interned fat the Interamerican University Legal Clinic.
Mrs. Rivera has worked pro bono for the Puerto Rico Bar Association where she litigated various cases. She also worked for two years for the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico creating and implementing the educational program to educate visitors about the judicial system and the history of the Supreme Court.
Later, Mrs. Rivera founded her own law firm along an experienced immigration attorney. After some time, she worked with the Law Firm, Maney, Gordon, Zeller, Immigration Attorneys, prior to co-founding Terra Immigration Partners. At Terra, Mrs. Rivera practices U.S. Immigration Law exclusively. She is authorized to practice Immigration Law in all the states of the United States and its territories.

Ingrid Borges Perez is a founding partner of Terra Immigration Partners, a full-service immigration law firm dedicated to assisting foreign nationals, investors, and businesses achieve their immigration goals.
She is a native of Brazil and has lived in the United States since childhood. She has first-hand, personal experience with the language, cultural, and financial barriers that immigrants face. This gives her a unique perspective into these challenges and it is a guiding principle in her work.
Prior to founding Terra Immigration, Ms. Perez worked as a solo practitioner focusing exclusively in immigration law. Ms. Perez also has years of experience as a Criminal Defense Attorney for The Legal Aid Society in New York City where she zealously represented clients in Manhattan Criminal Court and New York State Supreme Court. She worked as lead counsel and represented close to one thousand clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges. She was responsible for all phases of litigation including arraignments, bail applications, legal writing, research, negotiations, investigations, hearings, and trials.
Ms. Perez represented many non-citizen clients who faced serious immigration consequences resulting from an arrest. For example, Ms. Perez represented an individual charged with making a false report to the police. Her client faced deportation and jail time if convicted. Ms. Perez took the case to trial and obtained a full acquittal. Not only was the client found not-guilty of making a false report, the client’s immigration consequences were fully averted.
Ms. Perez obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in 2008 from C.U.N.Y. Hunter College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She worked as a middle school Language Arts Teacher for two years prior obtaining her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 2013. In law school, she was an active member of the Latin American Law Students Association and the Fordham Moot Court Board.
Ms. Perez also supplemented her academics with numerous internships and externships allowing her to experience different legal practices. She is a member in good standing of the New York State Bar and she is authorized to practice immigration law in all U.S. States and Territories.
Ms. Perez is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Ms. Perez is also a member of the Lideres Board for LatinoJustice, the first national Latino organization to bring transparency to the plight of Latinx under a broken and racialized criminal justice system. She is passionate about equal justice, immigrant rights, and government accountability initiatives. Ms. Perez speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.

In addition to having over 8 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Ms. Cunha-Goldner holds a Degree in Law from Brazil. She has experience as a bilingual administrative/legal assistant and executive secretary for corporate employers. In her various roles, she assisted in the translations of legal documents and audio transcriptions for legal processes and transactions and proofreading legal texts. This experience enhances her knowledge of business enterprises and corporate structure. She is an effective communicator with an impressive knowledge of linguistics and language.
Mrs. Cunha-Goldner is also certified to serve as a Notary Public by the state of Florida, both in-person and online. She is a member of The Association of Legal Professionals (NALS), the National Notary Association (NNA), the American Association of Notaries (AAN), and American Translators Association (ATA).
